Vietnam to Thailand: Money Exchange Tips and Tricks

Hello, I am Jonesgo, a travel expert YouTuber and blogger. Today, I would like to share with you my experience of exchanging money while preparing for a trip from Vietnam to Thailand. In this article, I will tell you some things to be careful of when exchanging foreign currency in Vietnam.

Absence of currency exchange service at VP Bank

I needed cash before my trip to Thailand, so I visited VP Bank, which I usually use. However, surprisingly, VP Bank does not provide currency exchange service. This is something that many travelers tend to miss, so please keep that in mind! Of course, I thought it would be possible at VP Bank.

Since I usually carry a travel wallet card, it was a bank that I gave high marks for convenience for travelers. This is because VP Bank had a big advantage of not charging a fee when withdrawing money in Vietnam. I remember that other Vietnamese banks, such as TP Bank and other famous Vietnamese banks, all charged a withdrawal fee when withdrawing money. However, this time, I was disappointed in the currency exchange part at VP Bank.

Experience of visiting Vietcombank Money Exchange Tips and Tricks

Documents required for currency exchange

I went to Vietcombank after finding out that currency exchange was not possible at VP Bank. The bank was located across from Danang Europark, and the street was a modern street with Starbucks and famous brands. Here, I was informed of the documents required for currency exchange:

Passport

Flight ticket (printed or reservation ID)

Importance of linking mobile account

The most important thing was that I had to show an account linked to the Internet or mobile. I wish I had known this in advance.

Failure to exchange money at the bank and seeking alternatives

Unfortunately, I only had my flight reservation ID, so I ended up not being able to exchange money at the bank. Furthermore, I had used up all the cash and dollars I brought from Korea, so I was in a very difficult situation.

Exchange money at a gold shop: An unexpectedly good choice

I gave up on exchanging money at the bank and went to a gold shop as a last resort. Surprisingly, the exchange rate at the gold shop was better than the exchange rate announced by the Bank of Korea! As a result, it was a very good choice.

I exchanged my money at Tiệm Vàng Kim Dung Hảo in Da Nang, and they impressed me with the best exchange rate.
