The first thing I thought about when deciding to travel to Malacca was accommodation. Since I value cost-effectiveness, I was looking for a place where I could rest comfortably while staying cheaply. Then I found Hallmark Express Hotel and made a reservation without hesitation. First of all, the reason I recommend this hotel is because it is close to the center of Malacca, close to John Walker Night Market, close to taking the Malacca Cruise, and close to taking the express bus back to KL Sentral.

Close to the center of Malacca: It is convenient to travel to major tourist attractions such as John Walker Night Market, Malacca Cruise, and the express bus terminal to KL Sentral.

I booked a twin bed, but I was surprised that I was assigned a room that was too large for one person. Thanks to that, I was able to rest comfortably, but please note that when I booked a queen bed, I was given a slightly smaller room.

I chose a twin bed room, but I was assigned a very large room while staying alone, so I had a great rest. As a downside, there is no large mart nearby, so if you want to use a large mart, I recommend taking Grab. Here's another tip.

I paid for 1 night and 2 days on Agoda when extending my stay, but I was disappointed that I was given a slightly smaller room. Here's another tip: if you want a bigger room, choosing the twin bed option would be a good choice. If you choose the queen bed option like me, they will assign you a very small room. Please note.

The hotel always offers discounts on nearby tourist attractions, such as the Malacca Sky View and the Malacca River Cruise. Thanks to this, I was able to enjoy various tours at a low price.

When I visited the hotel I stayed at, they always had various promotions. If the hotel's guests were to visit nearby attractions, they would offer discounts on tickets. Among them, the ones I remember the most were discounts on places where you can see the Malacca Sky View and discounts on the Malacca River Cruise.

Hallmark Express Hotel in Friendly staff and clean facilities

The bright smile of the front desk staff when I checked in was impressive. The hotel was cleanly managed overall, and they also provided daily cleaning services, so I was able to stay comfortably. I stayed at the hotel and it was pretty good, so I extended my stay once more.

And there is a hotel deposit. In Malaysia, you usually have to pay a deposit of about 50 ringgit when you check in. Of course, you can get the 50 ringgit back when you check out later. I have never had a case where I didn't receive a hotel deposit in Malaysia. So if you used the hotel cleanly, you can get it back without any problems. And of course, foreigners have to show their passports when checking in.

So, you have to have your passport and deposit when checking in at the hotel. Please note that the deposit varies depending on the hotel. When I made my reservation on Agoda, it said how much the deposit was, so I was able to refer to it. And you can send an email to the hotel through Agoda, so if you have any questions, you can get a reply right away, which was also really nice.

More than anything, the smile of the manager at the front desk when I checked in at Hallmark Express Hotel still makes me happy. Thinking back to that time, I was able to use the hotel with the happiness of opening a pretty gift package because the front desk, which can be called the face of the hotel, was well-organized and the kindness of this hotel. And while staying here, I was able to visit all the attractions and delicious restaurants in Malacca and then rest well, so it was a really cost-effective hotel that I highly recommend.
