KL Sentral Gems: National Museum, Brickfields, and Thean Hou Palace
Hello! This is travel blogger Jones Go. Following up on my last post, today I'm going to introduce you to the charming attractions around KL Sentral in more detail. I wrote this based on my own vivid reviews from my visits, so if you're planning a trip to Kuala Lumpur, be sure to check it out!
Continuing from my last post, I'll continue talking about the attractions around KL Sentral today. If you're curious about the previous story, please refer to my last post. This story also contains content that I've actually experienced and can recommend. Please read the entire article.
National Museum (Muzium Negara): A Glance at Malaysian History
If you've visited Central Market and Petaling Night Market, it's time to get a deeper understanding of Malaysian history. That's right, the National Museum (Muzium Negara). Although it was hot because some areas didn't have good air conditioning, it's a place where you can vividly experience the past when it was the center of Malaysia's transportation and maritime trade. The admission fee is cheap, but if you use Grab, you may have to wait a long time, so it is a good idea to take a shuttle bus.
The National Museum is called Muzium Negara in the local language. Did you visit Central Market (Pasar Seni), Petaling Night Market (Pasar Jalan Petaling), and Kwai Chai Hong that I posted about last time? If so, you should go to Muzium Negara. It was hot because there were some areas where the air conditioning didn't work well, but if you come to Malaysia, you should visit here to see the history of the past when it was a center of transportation and maritime trade.
It is also a place that contains Malaysia's unique history, so I recommend you visit it at least once. When I visited, I remember the admission fee was 0.45 dollars. I visited here by subway, but if you go by Grab, I remember waiting a long time. Be careful about the waiting time when you call a Grab here. And I know there is a shuttle bus, so I recommend you search for the shuttle bus.
Brickfields: A street full of the scent of India
Brickfields is an area where many Indians live, and there are many Indian restaurants, jewelry stores, and marts. It is fun to look at various Indian ingredients and unique tattoos.
This place is called the Indian street, and there are restaurants, jewelry stores, and marts for Indians. I visited two Indian restaurants, but I got an upset stomach both times, so I didn't eat there. Also, the jewelry store has a guard in front, which is different from other countries. You should also visit the nearby mart.
They sell unique spices and Indian food ingredients, and there are many spices that you have never seen before, so it is fun to look around. Also, when you walk through this street, you can find unique Indian tattoos. If you are interested in tattoos, this street will also be quite attractive.
This is a street where you can experience various interesting aspects of India, so if you have time, I recommend you take a look around.
Thean Hou Palace: A Beautiful Buddhist Temple in the City
Tong Thean Hou is famous for its beautiful night view, but it is also attractive during the day. It is a Buddhist temple located in the city, and the Buddha statues and sculptures inside the temple give a similar feeling to the temples in Ninh Binh, Vietnam. The cityscape from the observation deck is also beautiful, so be sure to visit.
The last sixth is Tong Thean Hou. If you visit this temple at night, you can see the surrounding night view at a glance. However, I went during the day and was not able to see the night view. However, it was beautiful enough. This is a Buddhist temple in the city, and if you take a Grab to the site, you may be disappointed because you will feel an old, faded feeling in front.
However, if you go up from the entrance, you will be able to see the Buddha statues and other sculptures inside the temple that are not much different from the temples in Ninh Binh, Vietnam. Of course, it is much less than the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok. However, the view from the temple observatory more than makes up for that regret, so if you have time, I recommend you take a look around.
Travel tips Transportation, admission fees, and surrounding information
Transportation: Since waiting times can be long when using Grab, I recommend using the shuttle bus.
Admission fees: The National Museum is relatively inexpensive.
Surrounding information: Brickfields offers a variety of Indian food ingredients, and Thean Hou Palace has a beautiful night view.
