Melaka River Cruise
The most memorable experience during my trip to Malacca was definitely the Melaka River Cruise. I was able to feel the history and culture of the city vividly as I leisurely floated along the beautiful Malacca River. In particular, the night view while sailing on the river with the sunset in the evening was so beautiful that it was beyond words.
Best Time to Visit
During the day, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the river sparkling in the sunlight and the red brick buildings in harmony. In particular, the view of downtown Malacca under the clear sky was like a painting. However, if you are someone who suffers from heat like me, I recommend the evening cruise where you can enjoy the night view while feeling the cool breeze.
If you come to Malacca, I highly recommend taking a cruise along the beautiful downtown river at night or during the day. The method I recommend is to board at night because it is really hot during the day. If you take a cruise during the day, you can see the river sparkling in the sunlight and the red bricks and buildings built with various colors under the clear sky, which is a great advantage. However, I couldn't see it during the day because it was so hot, and I thought I could do a cruise tour only in the evening. The night cruise tour was cool because it wasn't hot, and I could feel the cool breeze and watch the night view of Malacca along the river.
Meeting hidden history and culture
While I was on a cruise, I was able to see houses built in the traditional style that gave a unique Malaysian feel on the northern side of the river. It was different from what I saw in Kuala Lumpur, not Malacca, and the shape of the houses I saw on the Malacca side seemed much more natural for people to live in. It was right next to the river, so it also felt like a Thai floating house.
Communicating with locals and making special memories
Before boarding the cruise, I was able to hear vivid stories about Malaysian history and culture thanks to a Malaysian friend I met by chance.
I made a friend while waiting before boarding the ship, and he told me a vivid story about Malaysia's history and present. Thanks to this, I was able to get information about the past and present of Malaysia that I was curious about, and my trip to Malacca was enriched and left with unforgettable memories.
Melaka River Cruise Booking Tips
Online vs. on-site: I booked in advance through Traveloka and used it for a cheaper price than on-site.
You can get tickets by paying on-site or purchasing tickets online and checking them on-site. I personally recommend purchasing tickets online. I purchased them through Traveloka and purchased them for a cheaper price than on-site. For information on how to use Traveloka, please refer to the post I made on my blog last time.
Boarding location: You can easily find it by searching 'MELAKA RIVER CRUISE COUNTER TIKET' on Google Maps. However, since there are multiple boarding locations, it is also a good idea to ask the hotel front desk.
When I first searched for the location on Google Maps, there were multiple boarding locations, so I didn't know much about it. In this case, go to the hotel front desk and ask for the boarding location, and they will explain it to you. If you are looking for another way, search for MELAKA RIVER CRUISE COUNTER TIKET on Google Maps and find the southernmost part of the river. That is the boarding point.
An unforgettable cruise trip
The Melaka River Cruise was not just a simple tour, but a special experience. If you want to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Malacca, communicate with locals, and make unforgettable memories, then definitely try it!
