Kuala Lumpur Itinerary: Must-See Highlights
You can fully experience the charms of Kuala Lumpur even in a short period of 2 nights and 3 days. Of course, you can't see everything, but if you make an efficient travel plan focusing on the key tourist attractions, you can have a fulfilling time.
I had various experiences while traveling in Kuala Lumpur for a week, and I created a customized travel plan for travelers who travel 2 nights and 3 days and 4 nights and 5 days. In this post, I will first introduce the 2 nights and 3 days itinerary in detail. Malaysia, where I visited, is a truly wonderful country. I traveled in Kuala Lumpur for a total of 1 week. Based on my experience, I wanted to create an appropriate travel plan for travelers who travel 2 nights and 3 days and 4 nights and 5 days. If you want a detailed post about purchasing airline tickets, please refer to my previous post.
Day 1, Start your Kuala Lumpur trip at the Tourist Information and Interaction Center!
The first place to start your Kuala Lumpur trip is the Tourist Information and Interaction Centre (TiiC). This is a tourist information centre and a vibrant space with various shops and performances.
I received a free map from TiiC and it helped me a lot in planning my itinerary. In particular, Central Market is close to TiiC and easy to walk to.
First of all, 2 nights and 3 days is too much time to see everything in Kuala Lumpur. You may miss out on some great museums. You need to decide where to visit first. You can go to the Twin Towers, the symbol of KL located in the centre, and enjoy the great view before going to the night market. Or, if you plan your trip around a museum tour, that is also an excellent choice. There are so many museums in the heart of KL.
If you check Google Maps, there are many museums, but if I had to recommend just one, I would recommend this one. Illusion 3D Art Museum is a museum about 3D art. If you can buy it really cheaply, you should pay about $11, but you can get it for a discount of $4 with the app I introduced last time, so I hope you refer to the post about the app I introduced last time. The reason I introduced it is because it is located really close, so it is easier to access than the nearby National Textiles Museum.
Of course, the National Textiles Museum was also great. Check out the information about this museum in the next post. And I would like to introduce some good places among the tourist attractions I visited. If there is a place you want to go, it will be easy to plan your schedule. Also, the River of Life is located nearby. This is where Malaysia was born, so I definitely recommend going there.
Various street foods at Central Market
Central Market is a place where you can buy various souvenirs, but it is famous for its delicious street food. I especially loved the chicken heart skewers and lobster fish cake skewers.
The fact that you can enjoy various tastes at a low price of 2-3 ringgit per skewer is attractive. It's so delicious that you'll probably end up trying all the skewers like me. The location is Central Market, but it's relatively cheap, which is an advantage.
Enjoying Nyonya cuisine at Precious Old China
There are many restaurants nearby for lunch. You can taste a variety of unique dishes here. I'll introduce the closest one first. Near Central Market, there's Precious Old China, a restaurant specializing in Nyonya cuisine. Nyonya refers to Chinese immigrants living in Malaysia, and here you can taste unique Nyonya cuisine.
I first learned the meaning of Nyonya after visiting the Nyonya Museum in Malacca. Nyonya refers to Chinese immigrants. For more information about the Malacca Museum, please refer to the next post.
I liked the food made by these Nyonya people. They sell various local dishes and various foods, so I recommend you visit them. Of course, there are many other good restaurants. However, since it's difficult to visit Malacca for 2 nights and 3 days, I recommended this restaurant.
Central Market, shopping and gourmet food at the same time!
Central Market is a place where you can enjoy shopping and gourmet food at the same time. You can buy various souvenirs and clothes, and you can also take a break while eating delicious food.
In addition to Central Market, Pasar Jalan Petaling and Chinatown Kuala Lumpur are also interesting places. Especially Kwai Chai Hong is a place where you can take great pictures with beautiful lights if you visit at night.
To explain Central Market again, I recommend you go inside and take a look. There are foreign tourists looking around, and here, the vendors start selling food to foreigners. Here, I couldn't help but buy something because the vendors were so good at marketing and kindly asked me to buy something. I think the vendors' selling skills were influenced by the Chinese in China.
And if you exit to the left side of the building and the 2nd floor, you can buy clothes. I think Central Market here is better than Pasar Jalan Petaling. So if you don't have time, I recommend you visit Central Market.
Central Market offers a cleaner environment to sell things, so if you buy food, it's better to eat here. Of course, you can see more things at Pasar Jalan Petaling. There are many different products in a much larger space, so if you have time, I recommend looking around there too. If you really want to see Pasar Jalan Petaling, you will probably need to invest half a day to see it properly.
Also, if you decide to go there, there is Chinatown Kuala Lumpur nearby, so please take note. It is smaller than you think, so you can see it quickly. And it was fun to see the old-fashioned murals. After you see everything, Kwai Chai Hong will be the last stop of Chinatown Kuala Lumpur. I especially recommend visiting here at night. The beautiful lights are fantastic at night.
Dinner at Luckbros Kopi!
I recommend Luckbros Kopi for dinner. It is one of the most popular coffee shops in Kuala Lumpur, and their coffee and chicken rice are especially great.
I had to wait 40 minutes at Luckbros Kopi, but it was worth the wait because I enjoyed a delicious meal. Especially the sweet coffee was really unforgettable.
This place was my top 3 favorite restaurant when I visited Kuala Lumpur. First of all, many people visit even on weekdays, so I went at 6pm on a weekday and had to wait 40 minutes. You can go in when it's your turn, but you'll be captivated by the atmosphere of this restaurant first. And if you look at the menu, you should definitely order coffee and chicken rice. I ate this menu and I highly recommend it.
The coffee tastes sweet. They serve a special coffee with ice floating in a stainless steel cup, and it's really special because it's a coffee flavor that you can only taste here. And next to me, I saw a group of 3 men ordering a glass beer pitcher and drinking coffee from the glass beer pitcher.
It must have been 3L. So each person must have drank 1L of coffee. Since they sell such special coffee, you should definitely try it. All the food they sell here is high-quality and clean, so visit.
