The best of Malaysia travel, From Kampung Baru to Petronas Towers
Hello, I am travel expert blogger Jones Goya! Are you planning a one-week trip to Malaysia? If so, the place you absolutely must visit is the area around KL Sentral. That is because all the highlights of your Malaysia trip are concentrated here!
I will explore the area around KL Sentral myself and share my vivid experiences with you. All the places I visited are places I personally experienced by running around, so trust me and follow along!
If you are planning a one-week trip to Malaysia, how about visiting Batu Caves, attractions around KL Sentral, and Malacca in that order? I will start the second story, posting about attractions around KL Sentral. I will give you more detailed information than when I traveled to Kuala Lumpur for 2 nights and 3 days last time.
Time slip! Traditional Malaysian villages in Kampung Baru
The first place I will introduce is Kampung Baru. I recommend this place to those who want to learn about the unique residential and architectural styles of each country. Looking at the housing and architectural styles of each country, you can see the customs and lifestyles of each country, so I always look at these when I go to other countries. This place shows Malaysia’s unique housing style.
For me, who likes the unique housing styles of each country, it was a really attractive place. The exotic scenery of wooden floating houses and coconut trees made me feel like I was time traveling.
In particular, since development is restricted here, the coexistence of traditional houses and modern high-rise buildings was impressive. I could feel the passage of time as I saw the past and present divided by the river.
For your information, Malaysia’s traditional houses are wooden floating houses. The roof is wide and placed sideways, and there are coconut trees and banana trees around, so you can quietly watch them in the city center. These houses are even more eye-catching because they are places where people still actually live. And there is a sign in front saying that development is restricted in this area. So the river next to it naturally serves as a divider between the traditional houses and modern high-rise buildings. Here, you can see the past and present at once, so you can enjoy the change of time.
In fact, if you search for the place I introduced at the beginning on Google Map and go, you may be disappointed because there are not many houses left. So, I recommend searching for Jalan Datuk Abdullah Yassin on Google Map and going. Even the locals told me about this place. If you search for Jalan Datuk Abdullah Yassin as a Google Map search tip, you can see a wider area. It is a place recommended directly by the locals, so be sure to remember it!
A fantastic experience at the world-famous landmark, Petronas Towers
The second is the Petronas Twin Towers, which everyone wants to visit at least once. Be sure to watch the Symphony Lake Water Show in the evening! The fantastic light show that combines music and fountains will make you forget about your tiring daily life for a moment.
In addition, the KLCC Department Store is the best place to enjoy shopping and relaxation at the same time. Famous brands from all over the world are gathered in one place, so it felt like I was at a world-class exhibition. The central fountain here takes you to a world of ecstasy with new music and fountain shows every 30 minutes at KLCC Park. How about resting your tired body and mind here? And you can see the department store at Petronas Twin Towers right next to it.
Almost all the brands from all over the world are gathered in this department store, and it feels like a huge department store exhibition. If you want to enjoy complex shopping and need a break, why not visit here? And there is also Aquaria KLCC right next to it, so you can observe aquatic creatures that you don't usually see in detail.
It's like going on a time travel! Malaysia's history at the National Textiles Museum
The third is the National Textiles Museum. It is a place where you can appreciate the traditional costumes and silk of the Malaysian people, and it is recommended for those who are interested in history and culture.
I personally thought the Textiles Museum of the Queen of Thailand was more beautiful, but if you want to spend more meaningful time than a cafe, I recommend visiting this place. Have you visited the River of Life, Merdeka Square, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, and Majid Jamek Mosque? Then you must be very hot and tired. Then visit this museum. This museum shows the traditional costumes of the Malaysian people, the process of making clothes at the time when it was the center of transportation and trade, and beautiful silk.
I would like to compare this place with the Textiles Museum of the Queen of Thailand, but I think Thailand was much more beautiful to me. Nevertheless, the reason I recommend this place is because you have to visit here to see the traditional Malaysian clothes of the past. I introduced this museum because it is a good museum for those who are interested in clothes.
